About your professor
I’m Dr. Yang Wang (pronounced “young Wong”), an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Temple University. Previously, I was Assistant Professor of Marketing at University of Texas at El Paso (2016-2019). Originally from Nanchang, China, I have lived in many places around the United States, including Michigan, Las Vegas, Atlanta, and Houston. I received my undergrad and MBA at University of Nevada at Las Vegas (UNLV). As a commuter student, I worked in various analyst roles at MGM Grand and Las Vegas Sands while attending school full time. So, students who are going through the same thing, I totally understand what you’re going through but I also know that you can manage your time.
I received my PhD in quantitative marketing at Rice University in May 2016 where my advisor was Dr. Amit Pazgal. My main research interests include causal inference with big data in various marketing contexts. If you are looking for my research page, it is located here.
Outside the classroom, I can usually be found at local coffee shops working on research or trying out new restaurants. If you spot me, please say hello! Outside of academia, I enjoy playing the violin, ice hockey, photography, travel, and food (mostly eating it).
To contact me, please email me at yangwang at temple dot edu.
If you’re a student, work hard and good luck with the semester!
